
Fortune magazine released earlier this month, its rankings of the world’s '50 Most Admired Companies.'
At No. 15 on the list is General Electric.

Founded in 1917, Germany’s Bayerische Motoren Werke (BMW) has been admired for its awe-inspiring range of automobile, motorcycle and engine products for more than a century. It ranks at No.14.

From Mickey Mouse to Cars 2 to Disneyland, Walt Disney’s creations across animation, movies and entertainment products have captured our imagination for more than 50 years. The company is ranked as the 13th most admired in the world.

Very few companies can claim to be as integral part of our infancy, childhood and youth, as Johnson & Johnson. Founded in 1887, the company’s iconic products include Band-Aid Brand line of bandages, baby products, Neutrogena skin and beauty products, Clean & Clear facial wash and Acuvue contact lenses. The company ranks at No.12 in Fortune magazine’s list of ‘World’s 50 Most Admired Companies’.

Everyone around the world seems to be ‘Lovin’ it!’. McDonald’s ranks at No. 11 in the list. Critics may have slammed the chain’s menu, expansion and business practices, but it hasn’t stopped fans from queuing up to grab their favourite burgers, french fries, breakfast items, soft drinks, shakes and desserts.

Tenth-ranked Southwest Airlines Co is an American low-cost airline based in Dallas, Texas. It is one of the largest airlines in the US based upon domestic passengers carried.

Trusted for its range of products such as Tide, Ariel, Pantene, Olay, Head & Shoulders and Pampers, Procter & Gamble has been rated the ninth most admired company in the world.

Seattle-based coffee chain Starbucks (No.8) will open its first coffee shops in India in August or September. According to Reuters, the company aims to have 50 outlets by year-end through a tie-up with the Tata group.
